The Hanhua Tianmashan Hotspring Resort, a project by the Bluemoon Design Team, is a captivating blend of nature, local customs, and modern design. Inspired by the mesmerizing beauty and elegance of Kunming, the team, led by Kelly Lin, has created a space that exudes humanistic colour and romantic style. The resort stands as a tribute to the poets of history who were captivated by the charm of Kunming.

What sets this design apart is its unique integration of culture and art with modern design skills. The Bluemoon team has skillfully chosen black, red, and cyan to arrange the screens, flowers, porcelain, art sculpture, and silverware. Techniques like fabric weaving, rattan weaving, and wood engraving are employed to outline an elegant cultural space. The result is a resort that is profoundly cultural, artistically boundless, and distinctly modern.

The realization of this design was driven by three main factors: civilization, spirit, and feelings. The Bluemoon team has interpreted local culture in a way that highlights humanity and the spirit of nature in an elegant manner. The resort is a testament to the team's commitment to preserving and showcasing local culture.

Spanning an area of 1053 square meters, the resort is a paradise-like space that is self-contained, unique, tranquil, elegant, and free from earthly trifles. The classic Chinese red and ethnic decorations contribute to the resort's distinct charm. The design team has considered the dialogue, collision, and integration between ethnic culture and spatial context, resulting in a warm and inviting space that retrospects the origin of ethnic culture.

The design process was not without its challenges. The Bluemoon team had to grapple with how to integrate the site with culture and art, create a dynamic and natural atmosphere, maintain harmony between human and nature, and bring art back to life. Despite these challenges, the team was able to create a design that is not only visually stunning but also deeply rooted in local culture and history.
